The Cardamom Club sells small batch Yemeni chai at thecardamomclub.com. This policy explains what personal information The Cardamom Club collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
What is collected
- Order information. When you place an order, The Cardamom Club collects your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number (if you give one), and what you ordered. You enter payment details directly on Shopify’s secure checkout. The Cardamom Club never sees or stores your full card number.
- Newsletter. If you sign up for the newsletter, your email address is collected.
- Messages. If you email The Cardamom Club, your message and the reply are kept.
- Automatic information. Like most websites, this site and its service providers receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit. Some of this is collected using cookies (see below).
How it is used
- To process, ship, and support your orders, and to send order and shipping emails.
- To send the newsletter, only if you have signed up.
- To answer your questions.
- To prevent fraud, keep the site secure, and meet legal and tax obligations.
Who it is shared with
Information is shared only with the services needed to run the shop:
- Shopify, which powers checkout, payments, and order emails. See Shopify’s privacy policy.
- Payment processors and shipping carriers, to take payment and deliver your order.
- Cloudflare, which hosts and secures this website.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the fonts on this site’s pages and therefore receives your IP address when the page loads.
The Cardamom Club does not sell your personal information. Information may be disclosed if the law requires it.
Cookies
The cart and checkout use cookies and similar browser storage to remember what is in your cart and to keep checkout secure. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout may not work properly if you do.
Email choices
Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. You can also email The Cardamom Club to be removed. You will still receive messages about orders you place, since those are part of the service.
How long it is kept
Order information is kept as long as needed to fulfill orders, handle returns, and meet tax and legal record-keeping requirements. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask The Cardamom Club what personal information it holds about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and ask for marketing emails to stop. Depending on where you live (for example California, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom), you may have additional rights under local law. To make a request, email the address below. The Cardamom Club will respond within the time the law requires.
Security
The Cardamom Club uses reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and personal information from children is not knowingly collected.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
